Harness Vest

what is the best way to travel-by greyhound bus-with a 2 year old?
My son is two, very squirmy and, I almost always have to get one of those “high chair-booster seats” and carry it along so I can strap him in…but the darn thing can be so bulky! He doesnt STAY in his seat (just the bus seat) for anything (even on short 5 hour trips) ……….(so, this has been my temporary solution…and as a SAHM and navy wife…i just dont have the money to travel much by flying so, I try and bus it home when I can)and..although I know he’s at a squirmy age, I need some sanity and some good advice…Ive heard that there are some…sort of fold up “travel vests”…I know eddie bauer makes one with a 5 point harness that folds up…is this a good solution??? thanks so much for ANY, ANY tips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bring plenty of small toys
coloring books/crayons
books
portable DVD player with 3-4 movies and extra battery
lots of snacks and water
put him on the inside seat and you on the outside so he can’t get out
can you travel at night so he’ll sleep the whole way?
i went on a 9 hour bus drive with my daughter when she was 2 and a half and she slept for 2 hours before lunch and an hour after lunch so maybe he might sleep a couple hours. My daughter is pretty squirmy too but I just told her she had to stay in her seat or the bus driver would be mad and she was pretty good. we read books and watched 2 videos and colored and she looked out the window a lot plus she sleep some of the way so it wasn’t too bad.
